It’s that time of the year! Here is one of our family traditions. We bake and decorate cookies together.
Years ago I met a very wonderful woman, Katie. She was great with baking anything! She and I would spend winter days in her kitchen baking tons of goodies. She gave me this recipe and we have used it each year to make Sugar Cookies and Decorate with the kids. I do miss getting together with the entire neighborhood and having all the kids here to decorate their cookies and take home to their parents!

Katie’s Awesome Roll Out Sugar Cookies
5 cups of flour
2 t spoons baking powder
1 1/2 cup butter
1 t vanilla
1 t salt
2 cups sugar
Heat oven to 375° F
Cream butter and sugar until completely smooth.
Beat in eggs and vanilla
Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
Cover and chill over night.
Bake 6-8 minutes.
Let cool completely, have fun decorating!
We make sure to take a batch to the nursing homes , police and fire stations, and the homeless shelter. The gift of giving!
